Workshop on understanding Carnatic, Western music
There will be a 10-day intensive course on 'Understanding Carnatic Music' and 'Understanding Western Music'.
Each interactive session is of 60 minutes' duration and classes will be held 5 days a week at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.
The basic aspects of Carnatic and Western music will be covered.
Dr M Lalitha, Fulbright Fellow, USA, and reputed violinist, along with M Subhalakshmi of Lakshminarayana School of Music are the course directors.
The course begins May 7 at the Bhavan's premises on East Mada Street, Mylapore.
