Chennai, July 28: HCL Infosystems will hold regular Carnatic
music concerts in Chennai as part of its corporate social
responsibility, said J V Ramamurthy, director (Operations) of
the company at a function in Chennai on July 27, 2007, in
association with The Music Academy.
Carnatic vocalists Ranjani-Gayatri rendered a Carnatic music
concert as part of the programme 'Expressions of the Mind'.
HCL Infosystems has been organising Carnatic music concerts
from September 2006 as part of this initiative. A special
programme, 'Expressions of the Mind', is held twice a year, said
T R Vasudevan, adsviser of the company.
N Murali, president of The Music Academy, lauded the efforts
of HCL to promote classical music including Carnatic music in
Chennai and said he was grateful for its support to The Music
Academy in this connection.
The chairman of the National Commission on Agriculture, M S
swaminathan, said music elevated the senses and it was good on
the part of corporates like HCL to promote classical music as
part of its CSR.
The formal inauguration was followed by Ranjani-Gayatri's
vocal concert.
