A children's musical on Samson
The children's choir of CSI St Thomas English Church, Santhome, is staging a musical, 'Samson - The Day God Brought Down the House', at 6.30 p,m, on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Museum Theatre,
Egmore, Chennai.
In all, 35 choirsters, between ages 5 and 15, will perform this children's musical of 'might' proportions. The musical 'Samson' was originally written by Eric Rainwater and Fred Judkin of Rain Water Music Company. It is the Biblical story of Samson who reveals the secret and source of his supernatural strength during his weaker moments to his paramour Delilah (who conspires with Samson's enemies) and loses his eyesight and strength as result of it, but in the end displays the power of God after his repentance and God's forgiveness. This poignant story is narrated in a lighter and comical vein.
The musical is conducted by Anila Manoharan assisted by Shobana Soundarapandian, Gemina Martin and Sheeba Roshan. The proceeds will go towards a new school building at CSI Primary School, Athimanjeripet, Tiruvallur district.
Donor and entry passes are available at St Thomas English Church office and at the venue. The church office contact numbers are 2464 0925, 4203 5179.
There will be a special performance for students at 11 a.m., the same day.
