Pacific Trends, the American Air Force's regional music troupe, will be presenting a music programme in Chennai for underprivileged children.
The troupe, which will be in Delhi for the jubilee of the Indian Air Force, will be performing additionally in Kolkata and
Chennai.
It will be performing for more than 700 students of Balamandir and other such institutions at the German Hall on Prakasam Street in T Nagar on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. The progamme has been organised by the American consulate.
There will be a public performance at the Museum Theatre in Egmore the same evening at 7 p.m. Free entry passes to this programme will be available at all outlets of Coffee Day, and Unwind Centres at 67, 3rd Cross Street, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, Chennai, and 8, Manickeswari Road, Kilpauk,
Chennai.
The troupe, which comes from the Japanese base of the Air Force, consists of seven members. It not only sings hit songs from the 1960s, but also American rock and country music.
The troupe has been performing for the past 60 years in countries in the Pacific region like Hong Kong, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Taiwan, Philippines, Korea and Japan. It has created history by giving more than 400 performances in a given year.
