Kovai Sarala on Vijay
 In tune with the high family viewership habit of the Tamil audience during Prime Time, Vijay TV is all set to launch a string of comedy weeklies to woo every member of the family, from the kid to the housewife. The new bouquet of comedies is scheduled at 2100 hrs, beginning July 19, 2004, across the week from Monday to Thursday. Vijay has roped in some of the biggest names in the comedy industry to anchor these shows.
Kovai Sarala, the versatile comedienne, who has the Tamil audience in splits with her inimitable style of comedy, particularly her Coimbatore accent, makes her first television appearance .She leads the way for the other comedy shows equally unique & entertaining. The comedy weeklies are scheduled to launch from July 19, 2004. A sneak preview of the show content:
Sakalakala Sarala is the show hosted by Kovai Sarala, for the first time on Tamil Television. Essentially a mono-act comedy to get a bag of laughs, interlaced with some popular comedy scenes. This wholesome family entertainment will be aired from July 22 onwards every Thursday at 2100 hrs.
 Idhu Eppadi Irukku is a standup comedy with a difference as it ridicules the histrionics and the so-called filmi “ishtyles”. A mockery on how emotion is depicted by different stars over the ages and presents the illogical and supposedly serious clips in comic fashion interlaced with film clips. Bosskey, a popular television comedian and stand-up artiste, hosts this show. This airs every Monday at 2100 hrs from July 19, 2004 onwards.
Kadavul Pathee Mirugam Pathee – a show that’s unrelenting in terms of appreciation and criticism. An innovative film review based on humour with impersonations of Angel, the Devil and the mortal film buff being a moderate between the two backed with an extremely humorous script, high impact animation/VFX and impersonated by funny man Nandoo, a popular Television host and theatre personality which airs every Tuesday at 2100 hrs.
Lollu Sabha, the re-enactment of some of the popular scenes from films, will be aired on Wednesdays at 2100 hrs. The Lollu Sabha team includes Santhanam of Sagalai Vs Ragalai fame along with Swaminathan, Manohar &
Uday.
A lot more new programmes are in the pipeline to enthuse the viewer. Vijay TV, in the coming months, would continue to provide unique programming with newer formats, thereby strengthening its loyal viewer base and at the same time bring in new viewers as well.
