The AXN Extreme Dhamaka
Transcending all boundaries of
imagination, AXN channel, the heart of action and adventure is all set to embark
on its second and biggest local production and programming effort, 'The AXN
Extreme Dhamaka'. Living upto its name in the true sense, 'The AXN Extreme
Dhamaka' paves way for the biggest on-ground action and adventure initiative
India has ever seen. Taking off from the stupendous success of the AXN 'Who
Dares Wins' India Special last year, AXN brings to India a bigger and a more
enthralling programme 'AXN Extreme Dhamaka'.
A hybrid version of two of
AXN's most popular shows - Who Dares Wins and Fear Factor, 'The AXN Extreme
Dhamaka' is going to be shot in a completely different and never seen before
manner. The production effort takes off with a 6-city tour of Delhi, Chandigarh,
Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Mumbai from Monday, September 22, 2003 to
Wednesday, October 8, 2003. The 'AXN Extreme Dhamaka' will be hosted by none
other than Australian supermodel Tania Zaeta, former Australian test cricketer
Mike Whitney and above all the two winners of the AXN 'Hot N Wild' Contest.
Lending her expertise as the host of 'Who Dares Wins' for 8 years and the AXN
'Who Dares Wins-AXN Special' last year, and being a highly sought-after model,
Tania Zaeta will be one of the judges at the grand finals of the AXN 'Hot N
Wild' Contest scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 20, 2003 in Mumbai.
Last year, the AXN 'Who Dares
Wins-India Special' saw Mike Whitney approach unsuspecting Indians on the
streets or at shopping malls daring them to attempt certain stunts that they
normally could, should or would not do. 'The AXN Extreme Dhamaka' this year will
be shot in stadiums throughout the country with the 'dares' designed to be more
demanding, severe and rigorous, and the highlight being the 'Main Dares' which
will be shot in India this year and promise to give rise to some heart-stopping
moments.
The 'AXN Extreme Dhamaka' is
presented by Hero Honda in association with Center Shock, Airtel and Nokia.
Said Rohit Bhandari, Asst. VP,
Marketing & Sales, AXN, "Last year when we shot 'The AXN Who Dares
Wins-India Special', we were sure Indians would enjoy participating in the
street dares which were fun to do and not that severe. The overwhelming response
during the shoot and the subsequent success of the show really encouraged us to
come out with a more extreme production effort. And that's how the idea of 'The
AXN Extreme Dhamaka' came about. We realised that there was an immense appetite
for action and adventure amongst most Indians, which is why this year the
'dares' are really going to put an individual's physical and psychological
endurance to the test. 'The AXN Extreme Dhamaka' is all about how far one can
push the envelope and experience the Buzz."
Bhandari added, "The
entire effort is going to be colossal in terms of logistical implementation, and
both international and local expertise will be used to ensure the maximum
security during shoots as well as to ensure that the quality of production is on
par with international broadcast standards. 'The AXN Extreme Dhamaka' is a
milestone effort for AXN and is guaranteed to be something that India has never
seen or experienced before."
