Thirty-five nominees, eighteen awards, twelve categories and one award show to recognise style and fashion. The Lycra MTV Style Awards is honouring the country's most stylish people at the Jamshed Bhabha Auditorium in Mumbai, on October 17, 2003.

The panel of judges have narrowed the search to line up the style icons and now you have the power to select the winners across 7 popular categories comprising music, television, films and sports. The Lycra MTV Style Awards is brought to you in association with Yamaha, Hyundai, LG CDMA and No Marks.

While the concept of style is elusive and a challenge to define, the nominees are redefining style to create their own style statements. A celebrated panel of judges comprising of Karan Johar, Feroze Gujral, Malaika Arora, Nafisa Ali, Navjot Singh Siddhu, Pooja Bhatt, Prasad Bidappa, Priya Paul, Wendell Rodericks, chaired by Shobhaa De have selected the nominees (list attached) in the 7 Popular categories. The nominees were selected for being original, dynamic, stylish and contemporary.

The nominees of the popular categories are aired on MTV. Viewers are invited to vote for their most stylish person in each category by logging onto mtvindia.com or dropping their votes in ballot boxes placed at 'MTV Hangouts' across the country and Lycra Preferred Partner outlets.

The other two categories that will be awarded are Technical and Honours. The Technical Awards will acknowledge people from the fashion industry including models, designers and fashion photographers. The Honours will recognise people in the field of business and politics. The winners in the Technical and Honours categories will be decided by the panelists.

The Lycra MTV Style Awards will be promoted through a campaign that will run across print, outdoor, on-air and online via mtvindia.com. Exclusive pre-show parties in Bangalore, Delhi and Bombay will usher in the Lycra MTV Style Awards.
