Musical Nite for a worthy cause
 The Young Women's Christian Association of Madras (YWCA) is organising a 'Charity Musical Nite' at 6.30 pm on January 17th at the Music Academy, Chennai. This Nite will feature melodious songs by Uma Ramanan and A V Ramanan, commemorating 30 years of
Musiano.
Donor Passes are available at Naidu Hall, YWCA of Madras, B B Shah Opticians, Land Mark and Pro Music.
The show is in aid of the 'Community college for the empowerment of underprivileged girls'. The Community College is an alternate system of education to the formal system. It seeks to promote economic and social empowerment of young girls in the slums, through vocational education and personality development. The college offers computer training and job-oriented courses, on completion of which the girls will be guided to find jobs.
The main thrust is on self-esteem and self-reliance to face a difficult world.
