The Shri
Maharajapuram Santhanam
memorial concerts are being
conducted simultaneously at five places on June 23, 2004, by his
rasikas.
The Shri Maharajapuram Santhanam Rasikas Trust organises these conducts every year on June 23, the day on which the Carnatic vidwan performed his last concert at Manjakkudy. Ganesh.
The rasikas started the organisation in memory of the maestro in 1993 and converted it into a Trust in 1998. In 1998, the Trust got Griffith Road (on which the Sri Krishna Gana Sabha is situated) renamed as 'Maharajapuram Santhanam Road'. The Trust pioneered the issue of Musician's Diary and issued the same for three years before handing over the same to
Mudra.

In the main event to be held at the Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in Chennai, financial assistance will be handed over to M R Ganesan (Mridangam), K Ganamurthi (Devotional Music), Embar R Vaghulabharanam (Namasankeerthanam - Tabla) & Uma (wife of Late T D Balu, Ghatam Vidwan). Eminent violinist
Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan presides over the function. Danseuse Padma Subramaniam, V Narasimhan (Secretary, Asthika Samaj, Tiruvanmiyur) and Ganesh (Regional Manager (PR & Publicity) LIC of India, also pay homage to the maestro, Ganesh adds.
