Ranjani and Gayatri are a popular duo and both provide accompaniment also to vocalists individually. They blend well and the tonal presentation is pleasant. Their delineation of ragas and swaras is crisp and well-measured. They have undergone full and complete training under Prof. T.S. Krishnaswami of Sri Shamukhananda Sangita Vidyalaya in Bombay, a calm, unostentatious vidwan of repute who has, on retirement, gone over to Madras. Ranjani and Gayatri too have done likewise to improve their professional prospects.

Both are artistes with All India Radio and have been giving duo concerts and providing accompaniments.

The sisters are also vocalists and are now taking training under the reputed vocalist, P.S. Narayanaswamy.
