Gayathri Girish
Gayathri is a rising young star on the Indian Classical Music Horizon. She has been performing regularly in various Sabhas not only in Chennai but in other parts of India as well. The hallmark of her style is the exquisite blending of artistry and Bhakthi Bhava, a result of the traditional training that she has undergone since the age of six. The innumerable number of prizes that she has won go one step further in reflecting her talents. When she was barely three years old, she was able to identify several ragas during concerts, much to the astonishment of those present. Her talent has since then been actively cultivated and honed to perfection by proper training and rigorous practice. Gayathri has been very fortunate to have Sri Vaigal Gnanaskandan as her Guru, who has been instrumental in shaping her artistry for fourteen years now. This early initiation has been enriched and considerably augmented under the guidance of the great maestro Sri Madurai.T.N.Seshagopalan. She has been the recipient of the following titles:
She is a graded artiste of AIR, Madras. She has toured Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and The United States on concert trips. She has several audio cassettes and compact discs to her credit. Gayathri has sixteen concerts scheduled for the forthcoming music season in Madras during December-January. She is singing at all the leading Sabhas in the city. She will be presenting three special thematic concerts:
