V. Uma Shankar is the son and
disciple of the great Maestro & the Grammy Award Winner 'Mr. Vikku
Vinayakaram'. He started giving performances at the age of 10. Since then he has
been playing with all top musicians Carnatic, Western & North Indian. He had also
given many Tala Vadhya kutcheris, jazz, fusion, etc. He has being playing the Ghatam Mala
with his father for the past 2-3 years. He has given many performances in India and
abroad. He has released many cassettes and CDs in Carnatic, Western jazz and Fusion. He
has his own group named "Chennai Blues" & "MALLARI". He is to
conduct his next concert in South Africa for the Millennium with his Rhythm family. |
