The Summit
The British Council and Hutch in association with The Park present The Summit, an award winning play, on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 January 2004, 7.00 p.m. at the Smt. Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium, 179 Luz Church Road, (inside MCTM Chidambaram Chettyar Hr. Sec. School) Mylapore, Chennai 600 004. Passes are available at the British Council, 737 Anna Salai, Chennai 600 02 on a first-come first-served basis.
The Summit takes as its starting point the paraphernalia of diplomacy and war, reducing them to the nervous systems of two brothers in suits. Both timeless and timely, this brilliant piece of work has been performed world-wide, winning numerous awards. Jonathan and Barnaby Stone, the duo who form Ralf Ralf, build their performances from physical and vocal cues in which song, dance, gesture and invented language are uniquely and hilariously combined.

About Ralf Ralf
Ralf Ralf is Jonathan and Barnaby Stone. Jonathon & Barnaby began working together as Ralf Ralf in the late 1980s, presenting work in the UK and internationally, including The Royal Court, The ICA, The Traverse, Jacob's Pillow in New York, Tucano Arts Festival in Rio de Janeiro and the New Zealand Festival.
Barnaby has performed in Julia Bardsley's Macbeth at Leicester Haymarket, Graeme Miller's A Girl Skipping, The People's Show and in various films. He has designed and built the sets for Ralf Ralf. Jonathan has worked as an actor at the National Theatre Volpone) on TV on the Quay Brothers' Institute Benjamenta, contributing to the sound track of the film. He has also composed various scores for dance pieces.
In recent years Jonathan and Barnaby have worked apart, developing their own work. In 2002, Jonathan Stone was given a scholarship by the Wingate Foundation to look at ways of reviving their company and resuming Jonathan and Barnaby's working relationship. With the help and encouragement of a number of UK theatre programmers, commissioners and producers Jonathan and Barnaby embarked on an ambitious but wholly realisable plan for Ralf Ralf both to revive past work and create new work.
