3-Day Natyanjali Festival

The Natyanjali Trust (Centre for Performing Arts & Cultural Activities), Chennai, conducted a three-day dance festival at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club auditorium in June-end.

Fifteen danseuses, in the age range of 7 to 14, all disciples of well-known gurus - K J Sarasa, Sudharani Raghupathy, Chitra Viswesaran, Padmini Dorairajan, Shailaja Ramji, Parimalam Venkatraman (Coimbatore) and Pandanallur Pandian - performed gracefully and delightfully.

The artiste-performers were Shreenika Srihari (whose tantalising snake dance won everyone’s heart) , Aarti Ramamurthy, R Meenakshi, Pavithra Dorai, V Smruthi, Nishadevi, R Dharmalakshmi, S Shruti, Shweta, M Thanga Thamarai, V Nivedita, P Swathi, V Krithika, J S Sukanya and N Natasha.

All the dancers displayed commendable performing skills in tune with their training and dedicated commitment.

S Prema, the managing trustee of the Natyanjali Trust (founded by her mother, late Jayalakshmi Satagopan), has taken it as a mission in her life to promote deserving talent in the field of dance, be it even from other states, on reciprocal basis.
