Filing an application in form A-1 to the Range Superintendent of respective jurisdiction with all enclosures in duplicate – to be filled in complete in all respects.
No ground plan is required for excise registration. It is enough if the boundaries of the factory are provided in a sketch indicating the neighboring premises.
A brief write-up on the manufacturing process for each product starting from the receipt of raw materials to despatch of finished goods, clearly indicating the stage when the goods reach the final stage when they would be recorded in the production record.
The copy of the partnership deed, board resolution, memorandum of association and power of attorney in case of application being made by person, other than the proprietor, partner or director may be provided.
PAN (Permanent Account Number) allotment letter attested copy.
The tariff classification of all the excisable goods, which would be manufactured presently and in the near future to be declared
The Range Superintendent will verify the same and point out any deficiency on the above. Once corrected, the registration certificate will be provided on the spot.
The certificate of registration or its certified copy should be exhibited in a conspicuous part of the premises.
Fresh registration has to be sought in the event of change in premises or in case of change in the ownership of the business.
There is no fee for registration and a factory or a unit is to be registered only once. There is no need for renewal of the registration.
The registration is applicable only for the premises where the manufacture is taking place. A separate registration is required for each premise.
In case a new product is to be manufactured, the registration certification should be got endorsed for the additional items.
