Dreaming away the year-end
The question now on everybody's lips is:- Where were you on December 31 night? Where did you spend that last night of 2003, and with whom?
Well, here's my own account of that night.
I was in New Zealand. Luminous landscapes, luscious greens and lovely mountains were my companions. I was amidst nature, amidst beautiful nature; enthralled and amazed.
Suddenly, I was in Africa. 'Bambara Bambara' were the shouts from the tribals I was with. They, far away from any kind of technology, were expressing their happiness in the only way they
knew -
dancing, singing and shouting.
Almost immediately, I was in
Antarctica, covered with ice. Penguins cracked at the crack of dawn.
Then, I was here,
in our own great India. Discotheques were rocking, deities were busy. Teens were with pals, having a great time, elders were at religious places, praying for their and the world's good.
Various religious leaders and politicians had stated that
opening of temples
at night should be avoided, but what happened was contrary to this. Most of the temples were
open!
Crackers were
burst, tempers frayed in pubs and shopping
malls. Cries of 'Don't touch my GF', 'He's soooo hot' were heard prominently.
New Zealand, Africa,
Antarctica and India. Yeah, I went all over the world on New Year's
Eve. I experienced the New Year 'feeling and emotion' with different people, following different customs.
I was sleeping at home and dreaming.
There's nothing better than sleeping on New Year's
Eve.
