Coffee, anyone?

In the days of yore, coffee was supposed to be the morning wakener. Coffee greeted people with a cheery 'good morning' everyday, coffee pepped up people in the midst of tension and heavy work. In the evenings, after a day of hard work, it was with coffee that people relaxed, and enjoyed.

In the present-day scenario, however, coffee is the ideal thing you'll have with your friend or sweetheart! Just visit the 'n' number of coffee shops that have cropped up from only-god-knows-where, and you'll know.

Here are some situations where one can and should acknowledge the 'power' of a coffee shop, and what it can do to your lives.

Scene 1- The sad sights of a broken relationship it was, that troublesome period of 'breaking up'; when Gaurav and Sneha entered Qwiky's. They had been 'successfully' going around for the past four years and, save minor hiccups, had no problems with each other whatsoever. And now they were at the end of the road, having fought furiously a day before, and then Gaurav suggesting that they meet and talk it out at Qwiky's. Ordering cold coffee for both of them, Gaurav started talking about the 'fight' and said, "Look here, Sneha, we've both been going around for so long, what's the big deal! What are we doing?...", his voice trailed off as coffee arrived. In the next hour, listening to music and sipping coffee, both of them looked at each other, and talked very less. At the end of it, they had re-joined, and were last seen going out, holding hands. Ah, the effect of a Qwiky's! The effect that coffee has!

Scene 2- Curiousity, anxiety and high expectations it was for a bunch of five guys at Coffee Day, Ispahani Centre. They were eagerly waiting for a 'net' pal, one with whom they had (all the five) chatted with for hours on the Internet, told her (yeah, of course, it was a gal) about the 'koothu' they had in college. She had responded positively, listening patiently to their pratter, and telling them all (through the chat window) about her 'koothu', her friends and her troubles.

They hadn't exchanged photos, and this was the day when they were to see each other. Sharp on schedule, the five of 'em met the gal (who had, of course, come with her pals). They got introduced and immediately started vibing very well, sipping leisurely the coffee they had ordered. Last heard of, they had all become close friends, a bunch of people who could trust each other and be friends forever. Ah, the kind of friendship that Coffee Day triggers! The effect of coffee!

These scenes happen everyday and in everybody's lives; the 'power' of a cup of coffee and the ambience of a coffee shop is tremendous. This is very true in today's context and with today's youth.

The role of coffee has changed in gigantic proportions, and so has its prices! From being a mere energy-booster it has become a friend-getter, 'figure-catcher' (wink), and a relationship-patcher.
