Now, let's see what bikes are available for the gearless people...

1. 'Love at first sight...' - TVS Scooty
This bike, a cute little thing, has attracted the fancy of every teenager, male and female. It is the 'Pulsar' in the gearless clan, in terms of popularity. Its good looks, proper mileage and attractive seat and boot design are major assets. No 1 in the gearless list. The newly-launched Pep variety too has been successful.

2. 'Hamaraa....' - Bajaj Spirit
It's 'purring' is quite famous and it can thus be identified easily. Sized well and compact, this can hold people who are less hefty and thinner. The internal gear-shift is identifiable with Spirit than other gearless bikes.

3. 'Maddy's is this...' - Bajaj Sapphire
The moment Maddy wore a cool dress and modelled with this bike, girls fell instantly in love with it. It was a roaring success as soon as it was introduced, and faded away slowly. Good bike, though.

4. 'Ying Ling Ming...' - Kinetic Zing
Was priced very low and thus was worth the buy. The handlebars are too small, thus being fit for thin girls. The pick-up is okay, so is the speed. Later, a Zing Rockin' was launched, especially targeted at the college youth. It promised features such as a mobile charger, can holder, etc. Didn't fare too good.

5. 'Enga Ooru Vandi...' - TVS Excel
For the 'Mylapore' girls and guys, especially the orthodox variety. Rumour says that it is because they can take along their aged grandparents on it. The only bike in the market on which you'll find a teenager going along with somebody old.

Other bikes found on Chennai roads are Activa, Dio and the like.
