Sri Sri Raghavendra Swamigal Sewa and Bhajan Mandali was constituted in 1971 by four dedicated youngsters. This organisation has been promoting religious music, teaching devotional songs, performing bhajans at temples, houses and schools, searching requisite bride and grooms for marriages, taking people in groups to pilgrimages, serving the poor and the needy with medicinal requirements and performing homams and other religious functions over the years. On the whole, the organisation has been spreading religious values, keeping in mind its purpose of social welfare.
Since 31 years, Satyanarayana pooja has been conducted at
Dharmaprakash. Thousands of devotees have been taking part in this
pooja. The first phase of the Project is estimated to cost
Rs. 40 lakhs.
Around 650 devotees have procured land at
eraiamangalam near Kadambattur in Sri Poorna Pragna
Nagar. A temple for Sri Krishna Anjaneya Raghavendra is proposed to be built here, in this place, which is 55 km from Chennai along the route to
Thiruvallur. The pontiff of Mantralayam Sri Raghavendra Swamigal, 1008 Sri Sushamindra Theertha Swamiji had laid the foundation stone for the temple on 20.12.2001. Till date over Rs. 15 lakhs has been mobilised,
with the 'Prathishta Mahotsava'
planned for 2nd July, 2003. Apart from the temple, there is proposed to be an old age home, place of study, marriage hall, medical shop, prayer hall, Annadana hall and a library. In order to ensure that this plan is successfully completed, it is proposed that Sri Raghavendra namam be recited one lakh times.
This occasion gives devotees an opportunity to get the grace of God. There is a plan to obtain Rs 500 each from every devotee for one unit. This facilitates devotees to take part in this auspicious deed.
