The research arm equips clients with cutting-edge research and analytics to support their businesses across the entire range of capital markets activities of fixed income, equities and. investment banking, said V S Narayanan, managing director and head of Accurum India and CFO of Accurum Worldwide.
The company hopes to step up its revenue from $ 16.2 million presently to touch $ 100 million by 2009, Narayanan said, adding that it would open a centre in Mumbai this year and in
Bangalore next year so as to operate from three centres in India, including Chennai. India will have a strategic role to play in the development of the company.
Explaining the rationale behind making Chennai a key destination in the company’s fortunes, Venkat said the quality of the work force was high in Chennai as also work ethics. The right kind of people could be found who also worked extremely hard, said the US-based CEO.
In all, 1,500 persons were likely to work in the three Indian centres in the next four to five years, he said, adding that the work force in Chennai would be expanded by about 300 persons by the end of the year.
