IT essay competition
With an objective to create awareness among the younger generation in the country on IT revolution, the Tamil Nadu government is organising national essay competition for
school students in the country.
The competition is part of the national conference being organised by the state government on
'Computer Education in Schools - The challenges and strategies for a total solution', to be held for two days from September 24.
"We are expecting participation between 15,000 to 20,000 students from over 5,000 schools across the country, IT Secretary of Tamil Nadu," Vivek Harinarain, told a meeting here.
"There will be two levels of competition. The first one for the students from classes 8-10 on 'The Need for
Computer Education in my Life', and the second on 'Future Scenario of Computer Education' for plus-one and plus-two students. Each school will be restricted to send a maximum of two students from each category," Anna University Vice-Chancellor
E Balagurusamy said.
The best three entries in each category will be entitled to a laptop, a personal computer and PDA respectively.
