IT education major Aptech Ltd’s unaudited financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, show a net profit of Rs 6.62 crore, with global billings of Rs 121.78 crore and steady growth for all brands in its fold. The unaudited financial results were taken on record at the board meeting in Mumbai on April 20, 2005.
Pramod Khera, CEO & MD, Aptech Ltd, was upbeat on industry trends, saying: "Increase in student enrolments has been over 10 per cent (Y on Y), with our students winning placements in banking, insurance, software companies and others. The substantial increase in enrolments has been possible largely due to industry-relevant and customised courseware being offered. "In Aptech computer education and Arena Multimedia, students are showing preference for career courses; while in SSI Education, skills like CC++, .NET and J2EE are the most sought-after."
Financials at a glance quarter Jan to March 2005:
Total revenue on a year-to-year basis has shown an impressive increase from Rs 22.66 crore to Rs 30.75 crore. The company has reported a much-improved performance on the bottomline both at the operating and net levels.
The PBDT has been reported at Rs 12.24 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, against Rs 5.92 crore (March 31, 2005) registering an impressive gain of 107 per cent. The profit after tax has increased by 148 per cent on YoY basis from Rs 2.66 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year to Rs 6.62 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005.
International operations
Global billing, including subsidiaries and the China Joint Venture, has increased by 20 per cent from Rs101.32 crore during the quarter ended March 31, 2004, to Rs 121.78 crore for the quarter ended March 2005.
