New initiatives from Precision Infomatic
The Chennai-based Precision Infomatic, which is a part of the Precision Group, has announced its foray into new areas of business, which will dovetail with its existing business and experience. Precision Group, which has completed 10 years and has touched a turnover of Rs 150 crore for 2005-06, is expected to cross Rs 400 crore by 2009.
V Murali, director, Precision Group said, "The company which started as channel partner to HP in 1996 is today the second largest partner for HP in India and is also a Microsoft Gold Certified partner. The company is among the top 10 system integrators in India and the wealth of experience gathered from the industry as well as the business associates has made them think and come out with these new initiatives."
Explaining the rationale behind each new development, Mathew Chacko, director, said that IT training is taking a complete paradigm shift - only organisations with core competency and diversified operations can exist in business. The gap between demand and supply in the job market has paved the way for the entry of new players in the IT training segment. Precision plans to bridge the gap since it is already in the end-to-end IT solutions-providing business. The revenue from this activity could be over Rs 10 crore in the next two years.
Precision aims to become a global organisation, Murali said, adding that in this context the engineers in Precision have started providing software solutions also. "The rich experience gathered over a decade has given us the confidence to embark on this ambitious move. Simultaneously, Precision will also launch the Infrastructure Management Solution, which will help customers to be in control of their IT infrastructure based on ITIL framework. Web solutions will also be provided to clients who need them," Murali said.
On the ERP Solutions, Precision will use MS Dynamics Navlsion to cater to medium-sized companies (SMEs) seeking one solution to increase productivity without disrupting day-to-day business operations. MS Dynamics Navlsion delivers integrated functionality with the following modules to provide a complete ERP Solution to customers - Financial Management, Analytics and Reporting, HR Management, Project Management, CRM, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Service Management, Retail Management and E-Commerce.
Precision will offer consulting services for IT Infrastructure needs of the clients for the four building blocks such as user community, data centre, network and security. This can be on hardware, operating systems, application, database, storage and any other requirements. Integration would be the next step to consulting as the solution suggested on consulting would have to be implemented. Opportunities for the consulting and integration business will be derived from existing as well as new customers, Murali said.
T G Ramesh, director, Precision, said the company currently has a presence in the south and west while it plans to open offices in the north and east shortly. With a national network, it will not be too difficult for Precision Group to cross the target of Rs 400 crore by 2009, he added.
