 SIS launches ERP training academy
Sundaram Infotech Solutions (SIS), the IT arm of Sundaram Finance Ltd, has launched an ERP learning centre, the 'Axapta Academy of Excellence', to train functional and technical professionals at its Chennai facility.
SIS is one of the largest partners of Axapta, the ERP solution from Microsoft stable in India. As an ERP, Axapta has all the modules to address the total and integrated information needs of an enterprise. Microsoft ERP is a line of products that automate and help improve financial and customer relationship as well as supply chain management. In the last two years, SIS has gained solid expertise in Axapta ERP offering to be able to offer specialised training.
Srinivas Acharya, joint MD, Sundaram Finance Ltd, and CEO, SIS, said, "The primary objective of the Axapta Academy is to impart specialised functional and technical training on Axapta ERP as a product to enable them get involved in live offshore project implementation at our Chennai facility. In the medium term, we expect the professionals, rolled out of the Axapta Academy, to be positioned onsite in overseas markets such as the US and Europe. With the launch of the academy, we are confident of enhancing the quality of our consulting and technical team to offer high-value services to our ERP clients."

Once fully on stream, SIS' Axapta ERP academy is expected to ensure a regular rollout of qualified ERP resources. In the first year of its launch, we expect the academy to train over 100 professionals on Axapta ERP. The academy will offer unique case studies experienced by SIS in our live implementations."

- Includes over 120 hours of technical training and 160 hours of functional training;

SIS, which focuses primarily on the financial services and manufacturing verticals, has a 50,000 sq ft software development facility in Chennai and will be doubling its infrastructure presence to over 1,00,000 sq ft this year. SIS is currently in the process of hiring over 500 professionals and will be trebling its headcount in Chennai to over 750 employees.
