 SYMA's official website launched
The website (www.syma.in) of Srinivas Young Men’s Association (SYMA), a Triplicane-based social welfare organiisation, was inaugurated on August 15, 2006, by famous orator Bharathi Basker, in the presence of S Sundaresan, general manager, United India Insurance Company Ltd.
The dream of the members to have a website became a reality thanks to R Kannan, a well-wisher of the association, who bore the entire cost of bringing the website into existence.
Creative Desk, a Chennai-based web development company, was given the task of creating the website.
The elegant website is a repository of information about the association and the various projects undertaken since its inception in 1977.
The information is presented in a structured manner so that the surfer will find it easy to navigate through the site.
The activities undertaken by the organization have been divided into 12 categories like Education, Health, Environment Protection, National Integration, Sports, etc. A separate web page has been executed by the association to list them in a chronological order, interspersed with relevant photographs. There is also a separate photo gallery which contains the photographs of various activities. Viewers can also download Bliss – an in-house magazine of the association in PDF format.
The site also contains a list of blood donors along with their contact numbers and the contact details of organisations involved in blood donation. Anybody interested in donating blood can click the Blood Donors link and register their name online.
There are plans to update the website with the contact numbers and website addresses of public utility services relevant to the residents of
Chennai.
