Net Tech deal with Agilent
The Chennai-based Net-O2 Technologies has entered into a technology collaboration agreement with Agilent Technologies Inc, a $ 5.1 billion,
NYSE-listed leader in test and measurement equipment, for releasing its conformance test solutions on Agilent N2X multiservices test platform.
This allows network equipment manufacturers and service providers to comprehensively validate carrier ethernet aggregation networks, essential to
the delivery of triple play services. Agilent's adoption of this proven technology onto its N2X platform expands the multi-services test solution
available in the market and accelerates the industry adoption of carrier
ethernet.
N Muthukumaran, managing director, Net-O2 Technologies, said, "Net-O2's ATTEST Layer 2 conformance test technology has been integrated into
Agilent's N2X platform. We have worked very hard to offer a world-class product, backed by quality and excellent customer service. This agreement
with Agilent, the world's premier test and measurement company, is a ringing endorsement of Net-O2's accomplishment."
"Customers now have access to a complete range of quality conformance testing solutions from established vendors they know and trust," said
David Charlu, president and CTO, Net-O2 Technologies. "The collaboration with Agilent allows both companies to leverage their respective strengths to benefit customers. The unique nature of this partnership is that the technology is implemented into Agilent's flagship platform and expands the market opportunity for both companies, providing scope for further collaboration and additional product adoption."
Muthukumaran described Net-O2 Technologies as an innovative communications products company that enables customers to dramatically reduce the time required to test and enhances time-to-market. Net-O2 offers a wide range of automated test suites to address IP Protocols, Layer 2 Protocols and related standards.
He also added that Net-O2 is one of the very few telecom branded software product companies in India. It has sold licences to over 25 global customers over the last three years, including premier blue-chip communications companies such as Alcatel, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Lucent, Nortel Sagem and Siemens. Its customers are leaders in a variety of industries such as telecommunications (equipment manufacturers and service providers), industrial automation and
eerospace.
The company also offers Hybrid Solutions Services, which is unique in the industry. This offering bundles Net-O2 proprietary technology (ATTEST),
specialised software development and traditional software services. Two key clients in pilot mode are expanding their relationship aggressively and the company is tripling its workforce in the next eighteen months.
As Net-O2 evolves into a hybrid solutions company it will sustain and grow its established brand of networking software product in the test and
measurement (T&M) market with the launch of newer domain products, Muthukumaran said.
