GM Pens launches labelling solutions

GM Pens International Pvt Ltd, the exclusive licensee of Reynolds, France, for India and the SAARC countries and having its headquarters in Chennai, has launched the Dymo range of products in India. Dymo is a range of office and home labelling solutions owned by the Sanford Group and which help increase the productivity and improve appearance, I Mahendran, director, GM Pens International, said in Chennai.

Dymo offers several labelling solutions that can be used at homes and offices to organise work, he said, adding that these range from a simple product that produces alphabetical and numeral stickers to ones that make address and CD labels.

The target customers for these products would range from homemakers who would want to organise their home needs to professionals who operate their own businesses. With the Dymo range, one can make simple labels that can be used on glass jars in the kitchens to labels for CDs or cans and/or any other storage containers.

These products will be distributed through the 1,600-stockist, strong distribution network of GM Pens. The company is also setting up a separate sales team to market the Dymo range. The Dymo range will be made available across the leading outlets that sell office and lifestyle-related products. The company is confident that with its ability to build a strong brand, Dymo will become a household name in a very short span of time, Mahendran said.

Mahendran pointed out, "The landscape of the Indian business environment has changed dramatically in the last 20 years of GM Pens' existence. Advent of computers in Indian offices has led to the companies going high on sophistication and/automation and low on support staff. The number of individuals venturing out on their own has also gone up dramatically. The booming economy and consumers' willingness to spend on quality, convenience and/or enhanced productivity have created several opportunities that are currently being serviced by enterprising SMEs. Increasing disposable incomes have allowed Indian consumers choose products that deliver both value and functionality. All these have led to the need for products that increase efficiency and productivity both in the offices and at homes. Everyone wants to organise their homes and offices. The Indian consumer is willing to spend on products if they see value in them."

Dymo was acquired by Newell Rubbermaid in 2005 and is a part of the Sanford Brands Business Unit. Dymo now is a part of the Sanford Group, which owns worldwide several brands like Sharpie, Rotring, Parker, Berol and Papermate. These products help to increase productivity and organise work in offices, homes across the globe. Recognising the marketing and distribution strengths of GM Pens, Sanford has chosen GM Pens as the partner to distribute and market the Dymo range in India and the neighbouring countries.

GM Pens International Pvt Ltd is the exclusive licensee of Reynolds, France, in India and the SAARC countries. Headquartered in Chennai, GM Pens has pioneered the writing instruments revolution in the Indian market. Commencing operations in 1986, GM Pens introduced in India international quality writing instruments, and marketed them under the brand name Reynolds. It was also the first company to build a brand in a category that moved like a commodity till then. A continuous focus on consistent quality and a constant endeavour to provide quality products at affordable prices have ensured that Reynolds has been the numero uno in the Indian writing instruments market.
