Seminar on biotechnology in Chennai Technology

A Seminar on Biotechnology - UK and Indian Perspectives - has been organised by the British Council in association with the Anna University in Chennai on September 11 and 12, 2007.

Biotechnology, apart from being a sunrise sector, is a critical field that is increasingly being looked upon to enable us to meet the increasingly challenging human requirements across the world - be it in the form of bio-fuels to meet energy requirements while containing carbon emissions or be it molecular and forensic biotechnology to meet disease resistance requirements. The UK has been at the forefront of some really innovative and exciting research as has been India.

The British Council in association with Anna University - Chennai organised the two-day seminar to showcase the latest in this field to interested students at the Vivekananda Auditorium at Anna University.
