AIGSS bags rare distinction
 AIG Systems Solutions (AIGSS), a joint venture between American International Group Technologies (AIGT), a subsidiary of the American International Group (AIG) and Polaris Software Lab, providing IT solutions to AIG divisions worldwide, has announced that it has been appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 3. AIGSS, which has its corporate office in Chennai and commenced operations in October 2003, has become one of the youngest companies in the world to achieve this prestigious distinction.
A SCAMPISM appraisal led by Trimentus Technologies determined that AIGSS' software development, maintenance and management processes at its delivery centres in Chennai and Kolkata conformed to the ‘defined’ level of Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) for Software Engineering (CMMI-SW, V1.1) of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University, US.
“This is an important milestone achieved by AIGSS and reflection of the excellent progress that AIGSS has made in this short period,” commented Sunil Mehta, country head & CEO,

The SEI-CMMI model links management and systems engineering best practices to business objectives and provides a framework to continue to optimise performance in management, product development and delivery. The CMMI Level 3 appraisal signifies successful application of industry best practices to an organisation’s management and engineering operations.
