Love's in the air! You'll know it
when you see the increasing number of young couples on the beach
sands, in the shopping malls, in theatres, and in every 'cool'
place possible, as Feb 14 beckons us.
Even as 18 and 16-year-old
so-called couples go out together, the inevitable question popped
up - What is love? Is it going out to these cool places, holding
hands? Does love necessarily mean taking your valentine out to a
coffee shop, or playing billiards?
Definitely not. For, if love
could happen to you just by taking a girl/boy out to a coffee
shop, you could fall in love 'n' number of times, even more than
once in a day. The 'taking out' concept refers to dating. And
dating doesn't necessarily mean love.
For, love is a feeling of the
mind. The unexplainable situations when you saw your sweetheart's
face in every person you looked at, when your heart beat so
loudly, when you saw your loved one's smile everywhere, in the
wall, in the bathroom, simply everywhere, those are the situations
when you can say you are in love.
When you really care for that
special person, when you feel life itself isn't worth living
without him/her, then you can say that you have true love for that
person. Sounds as weird as Tamil movies, but is the simple truth.
"You will know the real
meaning of love when you fall in love." A quote that speaks
volumes of the feeling of love. One has to experience it to
understand it. Then again, not even the most loving of couples,
not even the 'teen couple' boyfriend and girlfriend going out for
the past five years, can really understand what true love is.
Because it's like that, love's like that, and not one person can
claim that he/she has understood the concept of love in its
fullest terms.
To the world you may be one
person, but to one person you may be the world. So, if you are in
love, take full care of that special person, show him/her that you
are concerned, and understand that love actually means something
more than just 'going out' to cool places.
Being in love is an amazing
feeling.
