About Hidesign
Hidesign was started in 1978 as a one-man artisan workshop for leather bags and jackets. From the beginning, Hidesign has been an International company, distributing under its own brand name across the world. Today, Hidesign has over 2300 employees, staffing its manufacturing units, company, tannery and buckle factory.
The Hidesign label occupies prime shelf space at prestigious retailer outlets across the world, including Selfridges, Liberty and John Lewis in the U.K., David Jones and Myres in Australia, Stuttaford's and Edgars in South Africa and Magasin Du Nord in Denmark.
Hidesign follows traditional methods of manufacture and tanning that reflect a care for the craftsman, craftsmanship and the environment using processes which have long since disappeared from the Modern Leather Industry. The leather is grain cowhide, vegetable tanned and hand dyed. The different absorption properties of each hide allow for a natural variation of
colour.
