The shrine of Sri Nithya Kalyana Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal is located in a village named Appur, 5 km from Singaperumal Koil on the way to
Sriperumbudur.
The temple, erected in conformity with agama shilpa shaastras, is situated atop Oushadhagiri (Oushada - medicine, giri - hill). This ancient temple finds mention in the reputed palm leaves of rishis. It is said that this is the only Vaishnava holy place where Saint Agasthya observed penance. The presiding deity is in a standing posture with his consort on his heart.

On June 2, 1991 the kumbabishekam ceremony
was performed for this temple of unknown antiquity, under the auspices of Sri Patanjali Swami of Appur Agasthya ashram.
As the name indicates,
this hill has a lot of medicinal plants and hence the breeze here is
said to have a curative effect. Legend has it that every full moon
day rishis and siddha purushas visit the temple to get the blessings
of the Lord. Also a number of devotees undertake giripradhakshinam.
Appurar, as the Lord is fondly called by the locals, grants the
wishes of devotees.
