<p>Building on this foundation, Wipro will deploy its capabilities across Olam Group’s ‘farm‑to‑fork’ value chain, delivering industry‑specific solutions that align with the Group’s business priorities. This will focus on areas such as farming, forecasting, trading, supply chain operations, and customer engagement, with the goal of improving operational effectiveness, strengthening resilience, and supporting long‑term growth at scale.</p>

<p>Ambit Capital has said that it is still not the right time to be positive about the Indian IT sector. In its latest report, the brokerage reduced its target prices for several IT companies by 7% to 21% and gave a “Sell” rating to most of them.</p>
<p>The firms with a “Sell” recommendation include major companies like Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra, among others. This shows that the brokerage expects limited growth or possible downside in these stocks in the near future.</p>
<p>According to Ambit Capital, global technology sectors that are growing faster are available at similar or slightly higher valuations. Because of this, foreign investors may prefer those global companies instead of Indian IT firms. This could reduce demand for Indian IT stocks and put pressure on their prices whenever they try to rise.</p>
<p>The report also pointed out that even after a sharp correction of around 25% in the last three months, valuations of Indian IT companies are still not very attractive. Tier-1 IT companies are currently trading at about 17 times their expected earnings for the next year. This is close to pre-COVID levels and still about 30% higher than similar or better-growing global companies.</p>
<p>For Tier-2 IT companies, the situation looks even more expensive. These companies are trading at around 23 times forward earnings, which is about 35% higher than Tier-1 companies. This high valuation makes them less appealing to investors, especially when better growth opportunities are available globally.</p>
<p>Overall, Ambit Capital believes that Indian IT stocks may continue to face challenges in the near term due to high valuations and strong competition from global tech companies. The brokerage suggests that investors remain cautious and carefully evaluate their investments in this sector.</p>

<p>Vivek Chaturvedi, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, spoke about the issue during an inter-ministerial meeting. He explained that the current situation is not normal, as global events are strongly affecting oil prices.</p>
<p>He said that problems such as disruptions in shipping routes, supply chains, and oil availability have pushed prices higher. Because of this, the government is closely monitoring the situation.</p>
<p>The government is trying to take a balanced approach. It wants to protect consumers from sudden price increases while also managing the country’s finances. At the same time, it is considering the financial health of oil marketing companies.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The All India uPVC Profile Manufacturers Association (AIUPMA) has sounded a serious alarm over the rapid rise of imported uPVC window profiles into India, warning that the domestic manufacturing ecosystem is facing severe pressure due to unfairly priced imports, predominantly from China.</p>
<p>At a national-level press and media conference held in Chennai, Mr. Arokiaswamy, Founder President; Mr. Eniyan Shivam, President; Mr. Vinod, Vice President; Mr. Sanjay, Vice President; Mr. Senthil Murugan, Treasurer; and Mr. Ram Kumar, Joint Secretary, stated that 1.6 lakh metric tonnes of uPVC window profiles were imported into India in 2025 alone, with 99% of these imports originating from China.</p>
<p>Addressing the media, Mr. Eniyan Shivam, President, said that the association formed by profile manufacturers from across India—urges both the government and the public to take note of the serious challenges currently faced by the industry.</p>
<p>Imported profiles from China are being sold in the Indian market at prices lower than the cost of raw materials required for domestic production, severely impacting local manufacturers. Over the past three years, imports from China have steadily increased year after year.</p>
<p>As a result, the market share of Indian manufacturers has dropped below 50%. If this trend continues, the sustainability of the domestic industry will be at serious risk.</p>
<p>A key reason for this situation is the high anti-dumping duty imposed on raw materials when imported into India. However, when these same raw materials are processed into finished products in China and exported to India, they attract significantly lower duties, giving Chinese products a major pricing advantage in the Indian market.</p>
<p>Furthermore, many imported products are of inferior quality and tend to deteriorate within two to three years. This has led to a loss of customer trust and a decline in demand for high-quality products manufactured domestically.</p>
<p>“If this situation persists, manufacturing in India may become unviable, and the vision of ‘Make in India’ risks turning into merely ‘Sell in India’,” he added.</p>
<p>The association strongly urged the government to provide necessary recognition and a protective environment for the industry, emphasizing the need to ensure that only quality products enter the Indian market.</p>
<p>Key demands of AIUPMA include:</p>
<p>• Mandatory implementation of BIS certification for all relevant products<br />
• Introduction of a Minimum Import Price (MIP) for low-quality imports from China<br />
• A comprehensive review of the Anti-Dumping Duty (ADD) structure to support domestic manufacturers</p>
<p>The association requested both the Central and State Governments to urgently consider these demands and take necessary steps to safeguard India’s manufacturing sector.</p>
<p>AIUPMA pointed out that Chinese imports have now captured 51% of the Indian uPVC window profile market, while the share of Indian manufacturers has fallen to 49%. This shift marks a critical tipping point for the industry, as domestic manufacturers continue to lose ground year after year.</p>

<p>The association further highlighted that these imports are being sold at prices significantly below domestic production cost and, in many cases, even below raw material cost. This has created a deeply uneven playing field, making it extremely difficult for local manufacturers to compete and sustain operations.</p>
<p>As a direct consequence, Indian manufacturers are currently operating with nearly 57 % idle manufacturing capacity, resulting in underutilized plants, financial stress, and growing uncertainty across the value chain. AIUPMA warned that without immediate policy intervention, the long-term viability of India’s uPVC manufacturing ecosystem could be seriously threatened.</p>
<p>AIUPMA has therefore urged the Government of India to take immediate corrective action by initiating an anti-dumping duty investigation, implementing safeguard measures on finished uPVC profile imports, and strengthening quality enforcement at ports to ensure fair competition and protect the domestic industry.</p>
<p>The association emphasized that urgent intervention is necessary not only to support Indian manufacturers and MSMEs but also to protect the livelihoods of lakhs of people associated with the sector, including workers engaged in extrusion, fabrication, installation, hardware, logistics, and allied industries.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Indian rupee has weakened sharply against the US dollar in recent months. Earlier, it took many years for the rupee to fall from 45 to 50 against the dollar—from July 2000 to November 2008, which was about 2,149 working days.</p>
<p>However, the recent fall has been much faster. The rupee dropped from 90 on December 3, 2025, to 92 on March 4, 2026, in just 60 working days. This shows how quickly the value of the currency has declined in a short period.</p>
<p>According to Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Finance, this information was shared in the Lok Sabha on Monday while answering a question about the falling rupee.</p>
<p>On March 23, 2026, the rupee touched a new record low of 93.92 against the US dollar. This is the weakest level the currency has reached so far.</p>
<p>The minister explained that the decline in the rupee during the financial year 2025–26 is mainly due to a rising trade deficit. This means that India is importing more goods than it is exporting, which puts pressure on the currency.</p>
<p>He also said that there has been relatively weak support from the capital account. This refers to lower foreign investments and reduced inflow of money from abroad, which normally helps support the rupee’s value.</p>
<p>Experts say that global factors such as rising oil prices, a strong US dollar, and international tensions are also affecting the rupee. These factors increase demand for the dollar, causing the rupee to weaken further.</p>
<p>Overall, the recent sharp fall in the rupee has raised concerns among policymakers and investors. The government and financial authorities are closely monitoring the situation and may take steps to stabilise the currency if needed.</p>
