The Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Amravati, Andhra Pradesh, will soon get a
new rajagopuram, mandapams, and an annadanam complex. Chief Minister Chandrababu
Naidu will lay the foundation stone today for the expansion, which will be done
in two phases at a total cost of around Rs 260 crore.
The expansion includes building a temple compound wall, the Maha Rajagopuram,
mandapams, and Anjaneya Swamy temples.
In the first phase, costing Rs 140 crore, a compound wall will be built for
Rs 92 crore. The remaining Rs 48 crore will be used to construct a seven-storey
Maha Rajagopuram, Arjita Seva Mandapam, Mirror Mandapam, Vahana Mandapam, Ratha
Mandapam, Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Pushkarini, and cut-stone flooring.
The second phase will cost Rs 120 crore and will include Mada Streets around the
temple, approach roads, an Annadanam Complex, a rest house for pilgrims, quarters
for priests and staff, an administrative building, a meditation hall, and vehicle
parking.
The first phase of construction has already been completed. After today’s
foundation ceremony, the second and third phases will start, and the fourth
phase will also begin soon after tendering.
