Chennai Metro Builds New Curved Flyover Track

The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL) is building a 413-meter-long curved
track on the Kathipara flyover. This track will be opened to the public after
the work on the 5th line of Phase 2, which runs from Madhavaram to Sholinganallur,
is finished.

The new curved track is being added to the existing Phase 1 tracks on the
Kathipara flyover. Metro trains will move from a height of 33 meters down to
27 meters and then reach the Alandur Metro Station at a speed of 35 km per hour.
A Samacheer cantilever structure, which is now under construction, will support
this new track.
