An Indian tech worker with 18 years of experience has not been able to get a
job for seven months after being fired by a Nifty50 company. The person was
earning ₹70 lakh per year, but after losing the job, their income became zero.
Their savings are almost finished, and they can manage only for two more months.
In a Reddit post that went viral, the techie said they tried everything to find a
job but failed.
They wrote: “I have over 18 years of experience and have worked with new technology.
I was earning ₹70 lakh a year, and now I have nothing.”
They said they used LinkedIn, Naukri, references, and consultants, and even paid
for premium services, but still did not get any job calls. In seven months,
they received only a few calls from consultants and got only two interviews.
The person also said they had to rent out their new house because they could not
pay the EMIs. Their job search has been very hard and depressing.
“At my level, even friends cannot help because there are very few openings.
I am ready to work for a lower salary, but I am not getting any calls.
Everything is falling apart, and I feel hopeless,” the techie wrote.
