A Dark Look Into Cinema’s Addictive World

Who doesn’t love the world of cinema? Even if someone is not attracted to
the film industry itself, it’s hard to deny the appeal of fame, popularity,
money, respect, and the excitement that comes with it. Yes, there is a
negative side too — too much attention, harsh criticism, no privacy, and
constant trolling. But still, how many people in the film industry
actually walk away because of these problems? Almost no one.
They still depend on the same fame and success to create a life that
looks separate from it.
This cycle has been happening for more than 100 years, and it
will continue as long as cinema exists. Director Selvamani Selvaraj
tells the story of a few such people who lived this life in the 1940s
and 50s in his film Kaantha — a dark, realistic look at the world of
cinema.
