The ordeal began when TSA agents at the airport insisted he put the trophy in checked luggage. Despite following their instructions, the airline later reported that the bag containing the award was lost.
Talankin expressed frustration over the situation, explaining that the statue had been with him for years and held significant sentimental value. He emphasized how disappointed he felt about losing such a cherished item, especially one tied to his film’s recognition at the Oscars.
