Content creator Dhruv Rathee has once again sparked debate, this time by questioning beauty standards in Bollywood. After earlier comments on Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar, Rathee released a new YouTube video titled “The Fake Beauty of Bollywood Celebrities”, where he spoke about skin-lightening treatments and cosmetic procedures used by film stars.
In the video, Rathee claimed that several Bollywood actresses, including Deepika Padukone, Kajol, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra, have undergone skin-lightening or cosmetic treatments. He said that what people often believe to be natural beauty is actually the result of medical procedures. His comments led to strong reactions online, especially from Deepika Padukone’s fans, who defended the actor and criticised Rathee for targeting her.
Rathee also spoke about various cosmetic procedures such as nose jobs, lip fillers, fat removal, jawline enhancement, face lifts and botox. He alleged that many celebrities in Bollywood and Hollywood opt for these treatments, which can make ordinary people feel insecure about their own appearance. In the video, he showed clips of some celebrities who have openly admitted to cosmetic surgery and questioned others who have not publicly spoken about it.
