Star Vijay and JioHotstar today unveiled the landmark 10th season of Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, with a grand launch event that made Indian reality television history. The Season 10 launch invited an unprecedented 29 personalities into the Bigg Boss house, where each contestant had to pitch themselves through live introductions before the audience. In a first-of-its-kind format, the live audience decided the fate of these contestants based solely on their introductions, resulting in many eliminations on the launch day.
The 19 contestants who secured their place inside the house through public votes are Ansar, Mukesh, Dhanya, Raghav, Kumaran, Chandini, Savinya, Vinod, Pandian, Avinash, Muthazhagi, Ashwini, Prithvinath, Javed, Lakshmi Priya, and Shatiga. They will be joined by three common man winners, Jason, Muniyamma, and Shama, who earned their entry through the precursor Bigg Boss: The Common Man state-wide contest, marking the first time everyday citizens will compete alongside celebrities in the main house.
The eliminated contestants on launch day include common man participants Asha, Manikandan, Shoba, Manivanan, and Darwin, alongside other contestants Shabnam, Prashant Reviewer, Kavitha, Akshita, Malavika, Puviarasan, Raghav, Ebi and Raghu.
