GV Prakash Kumar Falls Victim to Social Media Scam

Social media scams are becoming increasingly common and can target anyone, including
celebrities. The latest person to fall victim is Tamil music composer GV Prakash Kumar.

According to reports, a scammer on X (formerly Twitter) contacted Prakash with a message claiming that their mother had passed away. The scammer said they needed money to perform the last rites. The emotional nature of the message convinced the composer to send Rs. 20,000 to the account mentioned in the message.

This incident highlights how scammers use emotional stories to manipulate people, even those who are usually careful and experienced. Experts warn that such scams are becoming more sophisticated, often preying on people’s sympathy and trust.

Fans and followers of GV Prakash Kumar expressed concern after learning about the scam, emphasizing the importance of being cautious online. Authorities advise that one should always verify such messages before sending money, no matter how convincing the story may seem.

This case serves as a reminder that social media users need to stay alert and avoid falling for emotional appeals that could be fraudulent. Scammers often target both ordinary users and high-profile individuals, showing that anyone can be at risk if they are not careful.
