As people grow older, they usually think more logically and less
with their hearts. But in Harikumaran’s Kinaru, the adults act more
like children. They all want something material, and they try to get it
with either blind hope or clever tricks. Even though they are adults,
they show a childlike innocence and make emotional decisions instead of
using logic.
On the other hand, the children in the story—led by Pethappan (played by
Kanishkumar)—seem to want simple things. But when you look closer, their
childish wishes actually have deep and grown-up reasons behind them.
Kinaru is mainly about desires that move from one generation to another.
Harikumaran tells this emotional story in a very honest way, helping the
audience connect strongly with the characters.
