When fans rushed to watch the highly awaited premiere of Stranger Things Season
5, Netflix faced major outages. Many users in the United States could not access
the service, and some viewers in India were also affected.
According to PEOPLE, Netflix crashed soon after the first four episodes of the
final season were released at 5 pm PT on Wednesday, stopping fans from watching
the show.
Millions of fans, who had waited three years for the final season, went on social
media to show their frustration.
Netflix said the problem was fixed quickly. A company spokesperson told PEOPLE,
“Some users had brief trouble streaming on TV devices, but service returned to
all accounts within five minutes.”
