Bangladesh’s dengue situation has worsened, with eight more people dying in the
last 24 hours, raising this year’s death toll to 364.
The Directorate General of Health Services reported that 778 more patients were
admitted to hospitals across the country, bringing the total dengue cases in 2025
to 90,264. The recent deaths included three in Mymensingh, two in Dhaka South,
and one each in Barishal, Dhaka, and Chattogram.
For comparison, Bangladesh recorded 575 dengue deaths in 2024 and a record 1,705
deaths in 2023.
