Easy and Delicious Prawn Tikka Masala Recipe

Prawns are a popular type of seafood loved worldwide. They are packed with protein and can be cooked in many different ways. Cooking prawns at home can be tricky, but with this step-by-step recipe, you can easily make a delicious prawn curry. Ingredients:

Fresh prawns

Lemon juice

Salt

Chilli powder

Ginger-garlic paste

Butter

Oil

Cumin seeds

Onions, chopped

Turmeric powder

Tomatoes

Cream

Curd (yogurt)

Garam masala

Tandoori masala powder

How to Make Prawn Tikka Masala:

Marinate the prawns: In a bowl, mix lemon juice, salt, chili powder, and ginger-garlic paste. Add the prawns and let them marinate for 15–20 minutes.

Cook the prawns: Heat butter in a pan (kadai). Add the marinated prawns and cook for 4–5 minutes until fully cooked. Remove the prawns and keep them aside in another bowl.

Prepare the masala: In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil and cumin seeds. When they start to sizzle, add chopped onions. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until the onions turn dark brown.

Add spices: Add ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Fry for one minute until the mixture becomes aromatic.

Add tomato puree: Blend tomatoes into a smooth puree and add them to the pan. Cook on low flame for 3–4 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Add cream and yogurt: Mix in cream, curd, and garam masala. Keep cooking on low flame.

Combine prawns with masala: Add the cooked prawns, tandoori masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix gently so the prawns are well coated with the masala.

Serve: Serve the Prawn Tikka Masala hot with steamed rice or freshly made naan.
