Easy Punjabi-Style Hariyali Chicken Recipe at Home

Hariyali Chicken tastes similar to Hariyali Chicken Tikka, but the difference is that this dish is curry-based. It makes a complete and tasty dinner when served with roti or paratha.

Ingredients:

350 gm chicken

1 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp red chilli powder

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 cup spinach leaves

1 cup coriander leaves

1/2 cup mint leaves

4 green chillies

1 inch ginger, chopped

1/2 cup cashew nuts

1/2 tsp garam masala

1/2 cup yogurt (curd)

1 tbsp lemon juice

5 garlic cloves, chopped

1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi)

1 onion, chopped

1 tbsp ghee

1/4 cup fresh cream

Salt, to taste

How to Make Punjabi-Style Hariyali Chicken:

Wash the chicken pieces properly. In a bowl, mix red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, lemon juice, yogurt, salt, and chicken pieces. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.

Prepare the green masala paste. In a blender, add spinach, coriander leaves, mint, green chillies, cashew nuts, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, and 1 tbsp water. Blend until smooth. Add more water if needed.

Heat ghee in a pan. Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.

Add the marinated chicken, mix well, cover the pan, and cook for 15–20 minutes on medium heat.

Pour in fresh cream, mix everything, and cook on low heat for another 5 minutes.

Punjabi-Style Hariyali Chicken is now ready. Serve hot with roti, paratha, or rice.
