This is a rich and tasty dish made with soft meatballs cooked in a creamy sauce and baked. It is perfect for parties and special meals.
Ingredients
For meatballs:
2 cups minced meat
1/2 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp ginger paste
Salt (as needed)
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
Oil (for deep frying)
For cream sauce:
1 cup malai (fresh cream)
1 cup grated onions
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 tsp coriander powder
Salt (as needed)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Extra coriander leaves (for garnish)
How to Make Malai Kofta Dum
Step 1: Prepare the meatballs
Take minced meat in a bowl.
Add garlic paste, ginger paste, salt, pepper, and garam masala.
Mix everything well.
Make small balls (like walnut size).
Keep them in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
Step 2: Fry the meatballs
Heat oil in a pan.
Add a few meatballs at a time.
Fry on low heat until fully cooked.
They will become slightly smaller and turn dark brown.
Remove and keep aside.
Step 3: Prepare the dish
Take an oven-safe dish.
Add a layer of meatballs.
Pour some cream sauce over them.
Repeat the layers until all meatballs and sauce are used.
Step 4: Bake
Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F).
Bake the dish for about 30 minutes.
Step 5: Garnish and serve
Take it out of the oven.
Sprinkle coriander leaves on top.
Serve hot.
