Spicy Malabari Fish Curry for Seafood Lovers

Malabari Fish Curry Recipe

Malabari fish curry is a tasty dish from Kerala, India. Made with spices, fresh vegetables, and coconut, it’s perfect for seafood lovers. Try this recipe to enjoy the taste of Wayanad.

Ingredients:

100 gms seer fish

50 gms grated coconut

1/4 inch ginger

1/2 cup tamarind paste

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

2 small green chillies

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

2 tbsp finely chopped shallots

Instructions:

Grind the coconut and turmeric powder with a little water to make a smooth paste.

In a pan, mix tamarind paste, red chilli powder, ginger, salt, and green chillies. Add the coconut paste and stir well. Place the pan on medium heat.

Let it simmer for 2 minutes. Add the fish and some more salt. Cook for a few minutes until the curry thickens slightly.

Fry the shallots in coconut oil for tempering and add them to the curry. Stir gently for a minute.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
