West Bengal Trains Doctors for Gender-Sensitive Healthcare

West Bengal will hold workshops in December to train healthcare workers from
government hospitals to be more sensitive and gender-friendly. The training will
focus on helping vulnerable groups like LGBT people and trauma survivors.

Organisers say that by working with psychiatric social work experts and state
health institutions, this programme is one of the first hospital-based,
multi-group initiatives of its kind in the state.
