Abhishek Sharma became the fastest Indian cricketer to score a T20I century when he hit 100 runs against Afghanistan in just 30 balls on September 17. He needed fewer deliveries than Rohit Sharma, who previously held the record with a 35-ball century in 2017.
Only two players have scored centuries faster than Abhishek in T20I matches. Sahil Chauhan from Estonia did it in 27 balls, and Muhammad Fahad from Turkey achieved it in 29 balls. Social media reacted热烈ly to Abhishek’s record-breaking performance.

Abhishek reached 100 in the ninth over, finishing with 108 runs off 34 balls, including 11 sixes and 9 fours. His scoring rate of 317.64 was astonishing. Rashid Khan eventually dismissed him in the tenth over.
The southpaw started strongly, hitting his first boundary on the fourth delivery. He struck two sixes and a four in the second over. By the fifth over, he had already scored 50 runs off 16 balls. After the powerplay, India crossed 100 with Abhishek leading the charge.
This was his third T20I century, alongside 12 half-centuries. His previous fastest hundred came against England in 37 balls. He made his debut century against Zimbabwe in 2024.
India ended at 221/7, thanks to Abhishek’s explosive innings and Sanju Samson’s 50 runs. The pair added 142 before Rashid Khan dismissed Abhishek. India lost wickets regularly after that, but the strong start ensured a comfortable win.
